How Memory Works on Lovora: What Your Companion Remembers, and For How Long
Last updated: October 6, 2026 | Lovora is an adults-only (18+) service on which all content is generated by artificial intelligence.
“Memory” in an AI companion can mean two different things: how much of the current conversation the model reads before it replies, and whether anything about you survives once that conversation has scrolled away. This document states both for Lovora, with the numbers the service actually uses, and what it does not do.
1. Two layers of memory
- The recent conversation, word for word. On every reply the model receives the last 40 messages of the chat — yours and hers — exactly as they were written. In a voice call it receives the last 24, because spoken turns are answered faster.
- Long-term memory about you. Every 5 messages you send, a separate pass reads the latest part of the conversation and updates a short list of lasting facts about you: at most 15 short facts, about 1,500 characters. That list is given to her on every later reply, in chat and in calls.
The first layer is why she follows the thread of a scene or an argument; the second is why she asks about the interview you mentioned last week even after hundreds of messages.
2. What goes into long-term memory
The memory keeps facts about you, never about her (her personality and backstory are fixed by her character). The distillation is instructed to keep:
- your name, age, job and where you live, if you share them;
- interests, hobbies, likes and dislikes;
- relationship, family and pet details;
- plans and events you mentioned, and what you are going through or how you feel;
- preferences you expressed, including intimate ones;
- anything you explicitly asked her to remember.
Small talk and trivia are discarded. Facts that are still true are kept; a fact you contradict later is updated or dropped. She is told to use what she remembers naturally — to ask about it, refer to it — and never to recite it as a list.
3. Where memory applies
- Per companion. Each companion has her own conversation and her own memory. What you tell one companion is not known to another, including companions you design yourself.
- Text chat, voice calls and her own messages. Calls use the same conversation and the same memory as the chat. When you have been away and she writes first, that message is also written from your conversation and her memory of you.
- Accounts only. Without an account the conversation lives in the browser for that visit and no long-term memory is kept. Creating an account carries the guest conversation into it.
4. What is stored, and for how long
- The last 200 messages of each conversation are stored, so a chat reopens where you left it. Older messages are not kept word for word; what survives of them is what was distilled into the memory.
- The memory is stored with the conversation for as long as the account exists.
- Deleting the account erases every conversation together with the memory distilled from it, immediately in the active databases and in any case within 30 days. Details: Your account, your data, and how to delete it.
5. Limits, stated plainly
- The memory is written by a model, so it can be wrong. It can miss a detail, merge two facts, or keep one you would rather it dropped. Correcting her in the chat fixes it at the next update, 5 messages later.
- It is short on purpose. Fifteen facts is enough for the things that matter in a relationship and too few for a diary: when the list is full, smaller details give way to more important ones.
- No edit screen. There is no page where you can read or edit the list directly, and no button to delete a single conversation; account deletion erases all of them.
- Nothing outside the chat. She remembers what was said in your conversation with her — not what you did elsewhere on the site, not your other companions, and not anything on your device. See How Lovora works for what the AI cannot see.
6. How to compare memory between apps
“Long-term memory” is claimed by most companion apps and means different things. Four questions make the claims comparable:
- How many recent messages does the model read word for word before replying?
- Is there a long-term store of facts about you, how often is it updated, and how large can it get?
- Is memory kept per character or shared across characters?
- Can you correct it, and is it erased when you delete your account?
For Lovora the answers are, in order: 40 (24 in calls); yes, every 5 of your messages, up to 15 facts; per character; by telling her, and yes.
7. Questions people ask
Does a Lovora companion remember me between sessions?
Yes, with an account. The conversation is stored, and every 5 messages you send, lasting facts about you — your name, job, plans, preferences, what you are going through — are distilled into a memory that is given to her on every later reply, so she still knows next week what you told her today.
How much of the conversation does she see at once?
The last 40 messages of the chat, word for word, on every reply (the last 24 during a voice call), plus the long-term memory of up to 15 facts about you. The last 200 messages are kept so the chat continues where you left it.
Do different companions share what they know about me?
No. Each companion has her own conversation and her own memory. What you tell one companion is not known to another.
Can I make her forget or correct something?
Tell her in the chat. The memory is rewritten every 5 messages from the recent conversation: facts that are contradicted are updated or dropped. There is no separate screen to edit the memory.
Does she remember me if I chat without an account?
Only within that visit: without an account the conversation lives in your browser and no long-term memory is kept. If you then create an account, the conversation you had as a guest is carried into it.
How do I delete what she remembers?
Deleting your account erases every conversation together with the memory distilled from it. There is no button to delete a single conversation on its own.
