You create each companion yourself (appearance, backstory and the kind of relationship: romantic, friend, mentor or custom) and can keep up to ten at once on a paid plan. Its reputation rests on memory: Nomi describes short-term, medium-term and long-term memory, plus tools you can edit, called Mind Maps and Identity Core. Users rate it 4.6 out of 5 from about 2,900 ratings on the US App Store.

Two details matter more than the sticker price. First, there is no lifetime plan: Nomi's wiki says so, so third-party pages quoting a $299.99 lifetime deal are out of date. Second, store prices differ by country, and Nomi says purchases on its website are billed in US dollars.
What Nomi allows, and what it does not
- Text: adult conversation is allowed. Nomi says conversations "aren't restricted by arbitrary content filters".
- Pictures: clothed only. Nomi's wiki answers the question directly: "Nomis are not permitted to take nude photos of themselves", citing the app stores and card networks, and adds that the policy will not change soon.
- Age: 18 and over only, with a date of birth at sign-up; the App Store rates it 18+.
- Video: clips of about five seconds made from an image in your Nomi's album, described by Nomi as a beta feature and paid with credits.
Renewal and refunds at Nomi
Nomi plans renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel first, and you must cancel where you bought: on the website, in Google Play or in the App Store (deleting the app does not cancel). The Refund Policy says customers are not eligible for refunds for buyer's remorse, lack of usage or dissatisfaction; any refund is at the company's discretion. If you drop back to the free plan, your Nomis stay, but group chats, video, voice messages and calls become read-only.

- Memory tooling. Three memory layers plus Mind Maps and Identity Core that you can read and edit. Nomi itself says memory does not mean perfect recall, but it gives you more control over it than most apps.

On Lovora, credits pay for media only: a photo costs 12 credits, a short video of about five seconds 150, a voice call 25 credits a minute, and hearing a message read aloud 1. Messages are unlimited on every plan, with a fair-use ceiling of 500 a day against scripts. Nothing renews: each purchase is a fixed period that simply ends.
Where Lovora is weaker than Nomi
A fair comparison has to say this part out loud. Lovora has no App Store or Google Play app; it runs in the browser. It has no group chats, so one companion cannot meet another. You cannot clone or upload a voice. Its memory is deliberately simple: the last 40 messages plus a short list of facts about you, with no editable mind map. Calls are push-to-talk rather than hands-free. Its companion builder makes women only (the ready-made catalogue includes men).
